Hospice Foundation of America
HFA’s website offers practical tools, reading suggestions, videos, and tips on caregiving for persons near the end of life who may need hospice care. There are resources available for patients, their families, and professionals. Most of this information is also useful under other caregiving situations.
Haven Hospice
Haven Hospice offers Patient and Family Care at home, in nursing homes, in hospitals, and at their care centers. Haven Hospice also helps patients manage their symptoms and gives families/caregivers needed resources and assistance.

Alachua County Social Services is committed to helping all Alachua County citizens reach or return to a state of self-sufficiency by providing temporary assistance through a variety of sustainability programs. Citizens must meet Core Eligibility Guidelines and fall within established limits of the annual Federal Poverty Level. Programs include AlachuaCares Health Services (Primary Care, Outpatient Diagnostics, Prescription Assistance, Medical Supplies, Vision Exams and Eyeglasses) and Sustainability Programs (Eviction and Foreclosure Prevention, Utilities Assistance, Public Transportation).

Funding is available for homeowners residing in the County, outside of Gainesville, for emergency repairs involving roof, well or septic, electrical hazards or accessibility repairs.
We also have down payment/closing cost assistance through the SHIP program for first-time homebuyers.

Family Caregiver Alliance
Provides a variety of free online resources for family caregivers. Their services include assessment, care planning, direct care skills, wellness programs, respite services, and legal/financial consultation vouchers.
Michelle M. Bishop, PhD – Clinical Health Psychologist
A licensed psychologist who provides therapy to help survivors and their loved-ones deal with the stressors of cancer, treatment and the adjustment to survivorship. She also provides caregiver coaching. She is a preferred provider for Blue Cross and Blue Shield as well as Medicare. Limited slots are available at reduced cost for those with financial hardship.
