Haven Hospice

Alachua County Social Services is committed to helping all Alachua County citizens reach or return to a state of self-sufficiency by providing temporary assistance through a variety of sustainability programs. Citizens must meet Core Eligibility Guidelines and fall within established limits of the annual Federal Poverty Level. Programs include AlachuaCares Health Services (Primary Care, Outpatient Diagnostics, Prescription Assistance, Medical Supplies, Vision Exams and Eyeglasses) and Sustainability Programs (Eviction and Foreclosure Prevention, Utilities Assistance, Public Transportation).

Alachua County Housing Programs

Funding is available for homeowners residing in the County, outside of Gainesville, for emergency repairs involving roof, well or septic, electrical hazards or accessibility repairs.

We also have down payment/closing cost assistance through the SHIP program for first-time homebuyers.

Michelle M. Bishop, PhD – Clinical Health Psychologist

A licensed psychologist who provides therapy to help survivors and their loved-ones deal with the stressors of cancer, treatment and the adjustment to survivorship. She also provides caregiver coaching. She is a preferred provider for Blue Cross and Blue Shield as well as Medicare. Limited slots are available at reduced cost for those with financial hardship.
